Summer is upon us here in South Florida! Time to start your indoor activities! May I suggest for those on or traveling to the Gulf Coast, visit the Florida CraftArt Gallery in St. Petersburg, see the marvelous Contemporary Fiber in Florida exhibition. While you are there look for Visit Florida l and Visit Florida ll, my woven fiber art wall manuscripts and tell me what you think. The show is up until June 17; all artwork is for sale.
In June, come see my tribute to John Lennon, Give Peace a Chance, at Studio 18 in Pembroke Pines. The exhibition is Rockin! The Story of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The exhibition opens June 23. It is great to see fiber art exhibitied with painting and photography!
Speaking of being indoors, my May weaving classes begin this week! Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 1 – 4 pm. You will create a fabulous artsy wall piece while you learn the fundamentals of loom weaving. It is easy and fun. All materials, use of my looms and equipment, plus access to my wealth of knowledge are included in class fees. Pick your day, reserve your loom. Space is limited. Register now! What will you weave?
Fantastic Fibers Miami! The fiber guild is open to anyone who works in any fiber medium who is willing to work in harmony with others. We are making the world a better place, one thread at a time. We meet on the 4th Saturday of every month in my studio, Pamela Palma Designs. Our current projects include the secret fiber book which is currently circulating; and coming up very soon, June 10, is World Wide Knit in Public Day. Last year we were among 1015 venues in 57 countries who knitted in public, attracting more than 50 fiber people, including children! Join us at PAMM from 12 – 5. Admission to the museum is free. Knit what you like or learn a new stitch. Join us in knitting embellishments for the chain link fences at Omni Park. This Yarn Bombing event will happen on October 28, in conjunction with PAMM’s community education programming. Join the Guild. Make the world a better place!
